Thunder Boy Jr. illustrator Yuyi Morales has such a great story. Born and raised in Mexico, Yuyi immigrated to the US as a young mom. It was there that she discovered the wonderful world of children’s books at her local library. This was her inspiration to create books of her own. She is now an award-winning author and illustrator, and she was the first Latina to win a Caldecott Award.
